What to expect when you work with The Clean Edit.

We are a professional cleaning service offering tailored cleaning solutions across Invercargill and surrounding services, helping busy people reset their spaces and reclaim their time.

More and more people are hiring cleaners for the first time these days, whether it’s because you’re juggling work, parenting, or simply overwhelmed by a never-ending to-do list, outsourcing the cleaning to someone can be a huge relief. I wanted to address some common questions and comments I have been receiving, so you know what to expect when you choose to work with me.

“What is the difference between a Refresh service and a Reset service?”

A ‘Reset’ Service is a deep clean service that that goes far beyond the usual clean, targeting more areas and often using specialised products, equipment, and a whole lot more elbow grease! This is why my rate is higher for Reset cleans, and they take me a lot longer! I offer this as a standalone service for those who want a fresh start. I also recommend a Reset to lay a beautiful foundation for regular Refresh cleans. Pairing the two services together ensures you get consistent results that are quicker and easier to maintain, providing a cost-effective solution long term.

‘Refresh’ is a regular maintenance service, focusing on the repetitive weekly tasks. This service is designed for busy people who want to outsource their cleaning tasks to focus on spending time on themselves or their loved ones.

“How is a move-out clean different from a deep clean?”

A move-out clean is a comprehensive service for empty homes, prior to moving-in or moving-out.

‘Restore’ is the most detailed service we offer, with a comprehensive checklist tailored for landlords, property managers so it is particularly useful if you are renting and aiming to get your bond back! Without furniture or belongings in our way, we are able to get into every corner and every cupboard, restoring homes to their best condition. Moving is a stressful time, and that final clean up is often way more work than expected. Let me help you get ready for your next chapter!

“I struggle to allow someone into my home.”

I hear this a lot, and it’s totally understandable! Allowing someone into your personal space, particularly when things feel out of control, can feel incredibly vulnerable. The most important part of hiring a cleaner is having someone you can trust.

Before I ever pick up a cloth, I offer a no-obligation free in-home consultation. Every home is different, and I like to tailor every service to your needs. This gives us a chance to meet, assess your space, and gain a clear understanding of your goals. It also gives me a chance to provide you with my checklist so you understand what services I offer, and give you an upfront quote. It’s all about us both being on the same page, ask questions and ensure you feel comfortable before I begin your services.

You can trust me to take the utmost care with your home and possessions, but to provide added peace of mind, I have liability insurance should anything unexpected happen.

“Do you tidy/organise as well as clean?”

Yes, I can help - but it’s important to understand the difference!

Cleaning involves scrubbing, dusting and vacuuming. Tidying and organising involves sorting, putting away and sometimes working through accumulated clutter. This can be a much more complex task that often takes more time and care.

Because of this, I offer tidying/organising houses as a separate service, charged per hour, with a pre-agreed time slot allocated. Whether you’d like me to chip away over multiple sessions on top of your regular Refresh visits, or book in a dedicated session, this is a flexible service tailored to your needs. Sometimes we need a hand to get on top of things, but not all cleaners will organise your space, so it’s important to pick the right cleaning service for your needs.

“I am so embarrassed, you must think I’m a slob!”

Honestly? I don’t. I’ve seen it all, and nothing shocks me. I’m a mum of two who has worked full time for years, I understand this more than most! Life gets messy, it’s totally normal, and it doesn’t reflect your worth.

My job is to help you get back in control, not judge you! Hiring a cleaner isn’t a sign you’ve failed, it’s a proactive approach to getting support when you need it. You deserve a home that feels calm and clear, without shame attached.

So, if you live in Southland, and have been thinking about booking regular house cleaner, or are after a deep cleaning service, I’d love to help. Taking the first step can feel daunting, but it could also be the best decision you’ve ever made for your home, your time and your peace of mind. If you have any more questions, please reach out! I’m always happy to chat.
